Sour krout (sic) and celery

Use this resource with the Life on the ocean wave lesson from our Australia topic.

This resource sheet features an excerpt about food on board HM Bark Endeavour written by Mr Perry, one of the ship’s doctors.

Ask the children to imagine what type of food they thought people would have eaten on board. There will be words that are unfamiliar to children. Encourage them to guess the meanings and then look the words up.
