Voyage of discovery radio play 2

SS1-radio-icon

Use this resource with the Life on the ocean wave lesson from our Australia topic.

Our radio play is set on board Captain Cook’s ship the HM Bark Endeavour. Version 2 has more advanced vocabulary and is slightly longer than version 1.

Use alongside the ‘Life on the ocean wave’ lesson in our Australia topic. The radio play will set the scene and whet children's appetite to find out more about Cook’s famous voyage. We hear about some of the people on board HM Bark Endeavour and the jobs that they are there to do. Discuss with the children how those jobs have changed over time. What are the equivalent roles now?

The children might want to make notes as they listen and these could be used for class discussion as a precursor to any research they might do.
