Antonia Peters shows children how to collect and analyse sports results in many different formats, from bar charts to pie charts. This one’s a winner!

Sports day at Mount Olympus is over for another year, but now it is time to sort out the results so that they can be reported in the school newsletter. Tell your class that they are going to write up an account of the day, including the all-important results. Explain that Miss Hercules collected the results and recorded them in a table on the day. (See ‘Sports Day results’ (below) or make up your own.) Now it is up to the children to sort them out and work out who came in which place.
