Oral storytelling is different from reading written stories. Children love stories that are written down and often know them word for word. But telling stories orally is a different skill. The storyteller brings his or her style, drama and props to the telling, and one telling may be very different from another. Film and storytelling are closely linked, so filming children doing oral storytelling is good for honing all kinds of skills.
