As teachers of young children, we have the good fortune of working with learners who have eager, sponge-like minds, who are willing to take on new challenges and who revel in success. But providing a rich, authentic and inspiring PE curriculum for all children – from those who can’t wait to put on their kit, to those who’ll invent any excuse not to – can be a struggle at times. Children’s opinions on sport differ wildly and strong influences from home, one way or the other, will sway children’s attitudes towards donning a PE kit and taking part.
