Sport provides many opportunities for children to develop key skills that will most certainly help them later in life. There are few people who advocate the ‘winning at all costs’ mentality. Want to win and do your best is the motto I live by – and this is the theme of the story Sports Day on Mount Olympus. Even though Alexia wasn’t the strongest or fastest, she demonstrated grit, perseverance and determination to win. These are qualities that not only help children throughout their lives but can also produce amazing work.
